Old Stuff 2

I think I was trying to demonstrate that I could do contribute to any part of the design process; from initial survey to producing designs and models for presentation. Mostly, I didn't model the vehicles and keyboard, although I did do a bit of modification.

It must of worked as I got the job, sometime early 2002. Oooo ten years ago.

Old Stuff

Lower Granton Road - City of Edinburgh - AutoCAD 14 and 3D Studio MAX 1.0 (-ish)

I uploaded the old .avi files and let youtube attempt to frame correct and shaky-cam correct, with quite amusing results. And here is another short sequence from around the same time.

I cannot even remember why I created these, not for any part of the project nor any public presentation, but it was fun back on some very old City of Edinburgh Sun Sparks for the AutoCAD work and my own hand built windows machine for the 3D Studio MAX animation.

Reminder - ReRead some of those 12d manuals

A reminder to myself to reread and go over the tutorials for 12d's most recent products (at least those I have limited trials versions for).

Interesting reading and a product reminiscent of the Infrasoft MOSS\MX type of string modeling and surface creation.

Remider to myself to check out the major upcoming muni rehabilitation jobs.

Shoogly Bridge

http://www.sacbee.com/2012/05/26/4519092/caltrans-records-reveal-concerns.html

A builder of the new San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge failed to disclose that a 19-foot section of concrete in the foundation of the span's signature tower had not hardened before it was tested. By keeping quiet about the problem, the builder prevented further examination or repair.
